Recycling Food Waste
The caddy provided will be labelled for all staff to easily identify it when separating food waste from other recycling.
Once the biodegradable liners are filled, they are sealed and placed in a 120 litre wheeled container. The wheeled container is colour-coded and labelled to identify it from other bins that we provide as part of the service.
The food waste is then recycled at a fully accredited and licensed recovery facility.
The process is called Anaerobic Digestion which is a natural biological process that occurs in the absence of oxygen. Naturally occurring micro-organisms are used to break down organic matter into a valuable fertiliser whilst producing biogas.
